Sisters Kate and Pippa have always engaged in ‘healthy competition’: report

Stealing the limelight from her sister is nothing new for Pippa Middleton.

Even though the two are best friends, Duchess Kate and her younger sibling have always engaged in some “healthy competition,” according to friends and royal watchers.

Although Kate and her suddenly-famous younger sister are “best friends” according to one family friend, that doesn’t mean they’re unlike most sisters.

“There is a healthy competition between the two,” royal watcher Katie Nicholl said in the latest issue of Us Weekly.

“Certainly when it comes to looks, like who is the slimmest or better looking, there is a little friendly rivalry.”

Kate, 29, and Pippa, 27, do fight over “weird things,” according to a family source.

“You’d see them fight over who had the worst headache or period pain!” the source told the magazine.

Pippa, known as a party girl, stole the spotlight when her sister married Prince William two weeks ago in London. Since then, Pippa has grabbed headlines for her elegant bridesmaid dress and a photo of her partying in a purple bra.

“She was the sister who sparkled,” said Nicholl, who is also the author of “The Making of a Royal Romance.”

“She is an extrovert, compared to Kate,” she added.

Friends also told this week’s People magazine that Pippa was always admired by the boys.

At Scotland’s Edinburgh University, “Pippa would always have male admirers,” a fellow student told the magazine.

Friends also described her as “more outgoing” than Kate.

“It’s a bit like Harry and William. Harry can afford to be a little more carefree,” Nicholl said. “Pippa can as well.”
