Tom Cruise would ‘love’ to go Bollywood

Tom Cruise is interested in going Bollywood.

At a screening of “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” in Mumbai last night, Cruise revealed that he is a big fan of Indian cinema, known for its vibrant song and dance numbers. After rehearsing extensively for his role in the musical “Rock of Ages,” Cruise said would be excited to do a Bollywood film.

“I love watching Hindi movies,” he told the Hollywood Reporter. “There are many Hindi movies that come out every year but I do watch a few of them. I would never say no [to one]. I would love to do it.”

Cruise has opened himself up to the idea of singing and dancing on-screen thanks to his wife, Katie Holmes. “She kept saying, ‘You’ve got to do a musical sometime,'” Cruise told the LA Times. “I was working on [‘Rock of Ages’] when I was finishing ‘Mission’ and I was singing five hours a day and I was dancing five hours a day. [Director] Adam [Shankman] said, ‘Look, we’re going to have a lot of fun,’ and we really did.”

“Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” opens in theaters on Dec. 21. The action thriller includes a cameo with Bollywood actor and “24” star Anil Kapoor, who threw a party at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel to celebrate the movie the night before the special screening.
