Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox’s friendship strained: report

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox’s long-time friendship might be on the rocks now that Aniston is so tight with boyfriend Justin Theroux, reports say.

According to the Daily Mail, Cox feels forgotten by her former best friend now that Aniston is in a happy relationship and Cox is the single one, following her split from David Arquette after 11 years of marriage. Sources close to the friends tell the paper that the two have been seeing each other less since Aniston took up with Theroux last summer.

Specifically, Cox was reportedly hurt last month when Aniston skipped out on a planned girls night to spend time with Theroux, with whom she is currently living.

A source tells Grazia magazine, “Jennifer’s priorities have obviously changed since meeting Justin … Courteney must feel that Jen has completely forgotten what it’s like to be the single girl and that will hurt, given how supportive she and David were to Jen over the years.”

While Cox has been rumored to be dating her “Cougar Town” co-star, Josh Hopkins, both have denied this to be the case. Cox also holds that she and Arquette are still close despite their split, saying in January that, “He’s my favorite person in the world. No matter what happens in our future, he’s my very best friend.”

She recently told Anderson Cooper on his syndicated show “Anderson” that she was happy Arquette was moving on with new love Christina McLarty.

“I am really happy for him,” she said. “I know it seems so weird, it’s even weird for me to say that.”
