While the cover of In Touch magazine alleged that Sandra Bullock was embroiled in a “Risky New Romance” with director Brett Ratner, both Bullock and Ratner have dismissed the claims as patently untrue.

“We think that it’s incredibly sad that in these times, this magazine would resort to complete fabrication, solely for financial gain,” the two said in a joint statement to E! News. “There is not a shred of accuracy in their story.”

In Touch had claimed that Bullock and Ratner were spotted “cuddling” at an after-party following the Oscars in late February. A source told the magazine, “They definitely looked like they were more than just friends. They were together all night and they ended up with a kiss.”

However, Bullock and Ratner say this just isn’t the case.

“We have not seen nor spoken to each for over a decade,” their statement continued. “We both had a great time after the Oscars, just not with each other.”

Bullock has largely laid low since winning an Oscar for her performance in “The Blind Side” and splitting with husband Jesse James after it was revealed that he cheated often. Bullock is currently living in New Orleans, where she is raising adopted son Louis Bardo. She also starred in this year’s “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.”
