Klum on Seal split: ‘I feel like I’m in the eye of a tornado’

Heidi Klum says that her split from Seal, her husband of seven years, has felt like an emotional “tornado.”

“I feel like I’m in the eye of the tornado,” Klum tells the April issue of Elle. “It’s emotions inside of your body that are a tornado. And then the outside world doing all this craziness—with you wanting it or not wanting it—is another tornado. But as hard as it is, so is life. Sometimes I think a curveball just comes at you. Instead of something straight that you can catch, it hits you in the head from the side that you didn’t expect.”

SEAL: ‘I HAVE NO INTENTION OF TAKING MY WEDDING RING OFF’

HEIDI KLUM GUSHES ABOUT SEAL IN INTERVIEW RELEASED AFTER SPLIT

While Seal sat down for two interviews the very day that the couple’s shocking split was revealed, Klum has been slower to discuss her impending divorce. Although an interview with the supermodel ran in the March issue of InStyle UK, it was clearly given before the couple decided to go their separate ways, as Klum gushed, “I don’t know why we work, my husband and I. We just do.”

But while Klum is now ready to talk about the breakup, she isn’t interested in giving specifics.

“People don’t need to know who did what. I don’t want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs that we had,” says Klum. “Every couple goes through things. Unfortunately, we’re in the public, so the highs are out there. But I don’t think it’s necessary—especially for our children—to have the lows being printed in magazines and talked about.”

Klum also implies in the interview that she wasn’t pleased that Seal was willing to talk so openly about their split to the public.

“He’s a grown man. I can’t tell him what to do and what not to do. It’s hard,” says Klum. “I’m a lioness. I have four cubs. I’m a mom. I want to take care of my kids and protect them. I don’t want to talk about them, or him, or me.”
