Demi Lovato is happy with her contract to become a judge on “The X Factor,” despite reports that the show’s other new judge — Britney Spears — is making 15 times more than her.
While Lovato and Spears looked like equals at the 2012 Fox Upfront last night — both women sporting short hemlines and long blonde hair — TMZ reports that Lovato’s contract for the series is mere child’s play compared to Spears’. While Lovato is joining the judging panel for a paycheck just above $1 million, reports say that Spears will be earning $15 million for the same amount of work.

However, the site reports that Lovato is still pleased with her contract, so much so that she has agreed to schedule her upcoming tour around her “X Factor” duties.
In one of the worst kept secrets in television, both Lovato and Spears’ names had been whispered for weeks as likely new judges for “The X Factor” after Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were released from their positions. Last night, Fox made the news official, trotting out both former Disney stars at their 2012 Upfront presentation. If there was any rivalry brewing between them, it was not apparent as both gushed about their new positions.
Spears said in a statement, “I couldn’t be more excited to join ‘The X Factor’ judging panel. I’m a huge fan of the show and now I get to be a part of the action. Simon and L.A. better watch out.”
Meanwhile, Lovato added, “I am totally stoked to be here. I’m so thrilled to join this legendary group of judges on the show. To be able to spend each week with Simon, L.A. and Britney watching the best that America has to offer is truly a dream come true.”
