Nightclub owned by Prince William’s best friend closed after complaints about drunken revelers

LONDON — A swanky nightclub owned by Prince William’s best friend Guy Pelly closed after complaints about drunken revelers.

Neighbors complained about people fighting, vomiting, urinating and yelling obscenities outside the posh venue Public, in west London.

The club — popular with royals and the wealthy Chelsea set — was branded a “public nuisance.” Police labeled the venue the area’s “No. 1 crime generator.”

Licensing chiefs, backed by the police, stripped its 2:00am local time closing time back to midnight.

Pelly, 30 — who organized Prince William’s stag party and is a pal of Prince Harry and William’s wife, Catherine — decided to close after failing in an appeal against the move.

A message on the club’s Facebook page said, “We hope everyone will remember Public with affection. We certainly will.”

Speaking about the closure, a source said, “We may have lost this one — but we’re determined to reopen somewhere else.”
