Paul Bettany was a fan of his wife Jennifer Connelly’s dyed blond locks for her role in new movie “Virginia.” “I thought it was remarkable,” he told us of her lightened ’do at Monday’s Cinema Society and Shiseido screening. “Somehow I thought it really suited her. I’ve never seen her as a blonde.” But when we asked whether he’d wanted her to keep the look, the “Margin Call” star added, “I married a brunette.” “Milk” screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, making his directorial debut on “Virginia,” tinkered with the film after it screened at the Toronto Festival. This time around, he said he’ll try not to read the reviews. Black admitted, “It depends on how many Crown Royals I have the night that it comes out. If I have three, I might; if I have none, I won’t.” Also out for the screening were Jane Lynch, Alexa Chung, Juliette Lewis, Billy Bob Thornton, Eve and Paul Haggis, who brought real-estate agent Elizabeth Beare and explained they are just good friends.
