Jennifer Lopez to leave ‘American Idol’: sources

LOS ANGELES — Jennifer Lopez has decided not to sign on for another season of “American Idol,” sources told E! News Wednesday.

“She’s just too busy,” a source said. Along with her judging gig, Lopez balances her singing career, Hollywood roles and being a mom to four-year-old twins Emme and Max.

Lopez, who topped Forbes Magazine’s Celebrity 100 List that was revealed Wednesday, is also set to tour with Enrique Iglesias this summer when “Idol” auditions kick off.

Lopez, 42, has said she has not yet made a decision about her future on the FOX TV show.

She joined “Idol,” along with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, for the show’s 10th season that launched in January 2011.

After her first season, similar reports emerged that Lopez would not be back to the judging table for a second go, but she ultimately decided to return.

A source close to the network said, “FOX does not want to let her go. They love her.”

FOX Broadcasting is owned by News Corp., the parent company of NewsCore.
