Bethenny Frankel hires Katie Holmes’ divorce lawyers

Bethenny Frankel is officially being represented by Katie Holmes’ divorce lawyers – after we revealed she asked Holmes “gimme your lawyer” after too many cocktails at a party.

Divorce papers obtained by In Touch reveal that the SkinnyGirl mogul has retained the same lawyers, Aronson Mayefsky & Sloan, who helped Katie Holmes wrap up her divorce from Tom Cruise in under a month.

Although a source close to Frankel denied it at the time, the documents seem to confirm Page Six’s report that a wobbly Frankel boldly tackled the “Dawson’s Creek” actress at a holiday bash in December, demanding after downing a few drinks, “Give me the name of your divorce lawyer.”

A spy told us, “Bethenny seemed a bit drunk and made a beeline for Katie Holmes and abruptly asked her, ‘I need a good divorce lawyer, can I have yours?’”

The spy continued: “Katie looked very taken aback, but was polite. She smiled and told Bethenny the name of her lawyer.” Day later, Frankel announced she had split with her husband.

Frankel could use the legal help of the big shot lawyers as new reports that say that Hoppy has counter-filed with his own papers. Hoppy is allegedly disputing nearly every detail from Frankel’s filing, which seemed to many as a sign that their divorce could turn long and ugly.

Holmes’ divorce attorney, Jonathan Wolfe, who works out of a separate office in New Jersey, helped her secure a quick settlement less than two weeks after filing — a reported $4.8 million over the next 12 years.

Frankel is reportedly fighting her estranged husband Jason Hoppy over custody of their 2-year-old daughter Bryn, ownership of their $5 million SoHo loft and any earnings she accumulated during their marriage.

The “Real Housewife” and her pharmaceutical exec husband announced their separation in December after being married for two years.

Frankel opened up to Ellen DeGeneres about her surprise divorce with Hoppy.

“I feel like a failure,” Frankel said early January. “I really put it out there. I wanted the fairytale. I thought I had it.”
