A newly crowned beauty queen digging in trash bags? Miss Hell’s Kitchen, Joanne Nosuchinsky, received less than regal treatment after being crowned Miss New York USA at Purchase College in Westchester on Sunday. We’re told while pageant bigwigs and contestants headed to the after-party, Miss New York was rummaging through trash bags full of pageant wear, looking for her things. A rep from the pageant explained to Page Six that “house moms” chaperone the girls and keep their items in order. But Joanne’s clothes “went into a trash bag, but not the trash,” the rep tells us. “Her bag got misplaced. The house mom went MIA. She left the theater,” adding, “We felt really bad.” Spies said poor Miss New York was seen digging in the trash bags, still wearing her crown and evening gown. To add further insult, when Nosuchinsky was finished with photos and interviews, everyone was gone. “I think she thought she was abandoned, but I stayed,” says the rep, who tells us Joanne’s parents had left earlier. Certainly no way to treat a beauty queen.
