Perhaps J.J. Abrams has found the star of his upcoming Lance Armstrong biopic.

Bradley Cooper says he would “love” to play Armstrong in a film about the disgraced cycling champ’s life that’s reportedly being developed by the “Star Trek” director.

Cooper, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for his work in “Silver Linings Playbook” told the BBC, “I would be interested in that. I think he’s fascinating.”

Paramount Pictures and Abrams’ production company Bad Robot has secured rights to “Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong,” a forthcoming book about the cyclist written by New York Times sportswriter Juliet Macur.

Cooper told the BBC, “I remember Matt Damon was going to do his autobiography at one point years ago. I remember thinking, that would be a great character, I’d love to play that character. I would love to do something, I think he’s pretty fascinating.”

The film studio has yet to announce a cast, and the “Hangover” actor said he had not had any discussions about playing Armstrong. Names like Matt Damon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Fassbender and Christian Bale have also been tossed around for the role.

After repeated denials, Armstong admitted during a sit-down with Oprah Winfrey that he used banned substances to win his seven Tour de France titles.
