The beloved child star who is now 84-years-old joined Twitter on Wednesday under the handle @TempleShirleyJ and now has more than 7,000 followers.
The screen legend has 15 tweets and follows 8 Twitter users so far, including Melissa Gilbert, 20th Century Fox, Dick Van Dyke and the United Nations.
Though her account has not been officially verified by Twitter, it’s been confirmed by Lee Unkrich, the director of “Toy Story 3,” that @TempleShirleyJ is the screen legend herself. Unkrich tweeted “Shirley Temple joined Twitter today. Yes that Shirley Temple.”
And she’s even been tweeting with fellow thespian Dick Van Dyke.
She wrote: “@iammrvandy nice to see a few of us on twitter – i took a second and listened to your new barbershop quartet – brought a smile to my face.”
Van Dyke replied: “@TempleShirleyJ Thank you!! I always envied you dancing with Bojangles!!”
But after model Coco Rocha asked her about fellow child star Honey Boo Boo, Temple replied, “I have been asked what i think of “honey boo, can someone tell me who that is~”
We haven’t heard much from our favorite curly haired sweetheart since she served as a United States Ambassador to Czechoslovakia under George H. W. Bush.
