White House designer Michael Smith feted

White House interior designer Michael S. Smith was honored by a fashionable set at a dinner thrown by David Heyman, the producer of the Harry Potter movies, and his wife, Rose Uniacke, at their London home Monday. Guests included Tom Ford, L’Wren Scott, model Saffron Aldridge, Net-a-Porter’s Natalie Massenet, SoHo House guru Nick Jones and Christie’s UK chairman Viscount Linley. The party was in advance of a New York auction of artifacts from a private Malibu home Smith designed for his latest book, “Building Beauty: The Alchemy of Design.” The auction at Christie’s, which will offer art, furniture and other objets, is Tuesday and Wednesday, while the book rolls out May 7.
