Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana celebrated their Fifth Avenue flagship opening with an elegant Saturday night cocktail party, hosted by W magazine contributing editor Giovanna Battaglia. Gisele Bundchen strode in wearing a white lace mini and excitedly hugged both designers, then reminisced about how they once altered a D&G dress she was wearing — while she was still in it. She told us: “It was after a show, and I was in my 20s. We all went out dancing, and my dress was kind of long. So Domenico just picked up scissors, and Stefano ripped my dress and [it] became a short dress. I danced for hours. I was really young then, and it was really fun.” Kylie Minogue also told us of Dolce & Gabbana, who have designed dresses for two of her world tours. “I can safely say I will have laughed, cried, flown, actually I have flown on an angel, literally on an angel, in concert. I’ve experienced the plethora of emotions in Dolce dresses.” Fashionable guests included Stacy Keibler, Brad Goreski, Emilia Clarke, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and fiancé Justin Mikita, Chloë Sevigny, Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee, Carine Roitfeld, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Erin Heatherton, Paloma Faith, Lauren Santo Domingo, Nicky Hilton, Stephanie Seymour, Harry Brant, Peter Brant Jr., and Amy Sacco, among others. The evening was capped off by performances by Metropolitan Opera tenor Matthew Polenzani and soprano Ellie Dehn.
