Questlove — whose band The Roots will join Jimmy Fallon in taking over “The Tonight Show” from Jay Leno next year — is launching a Chelsea food stand. The hip drummer next Saturday is opening Hybird at Chelsea Market with Starr Restaurants, which will serve what is being billed as “gourmet fast food for the eclectic palate.” Expected at an opening bash where Questlove will DJ are Anthony Bourdain, Bravo’s Andy Cohen, singer Melanie Fiona, late-night host Craig Ferguson and model Chrissy Teigen. Stephen Starr’s company is already behind restaurants including Buddakan and Morimoto nearby. To recruit staff for the new joint, Questlove recently held a job fair at Buddakan.
