Ali MacGraw and Ali Wentworth tame Humane Society crowd

Some guests at the Humane Society of New York’s Benefit Photography Auction were chided for acting like animals themselves last week. A spy says one group gabbed so loudly while special guest Ali MacGraw “was talking about the Humane Society’s work with animals” that “she added, ‘Like the ones in the next room! It’s so noisy. Everybody be quiet! There’s nothing more annoying than people talking when I’m trying to make a point.” Another emcee, Ali Wentworth, chimed in, “If you don’t be quiet, I’m going to let out all the rescue snakes, and we have a lot of cobras!” Well behaved guests at the Marianne Boesky Gallery event included board member Cornelia Guest, who created the night’s vegetarian hors d’oeuvres.
