WATCH: Johnny Depp trampled by horse on ‘Lone Ranger’ set

Johnny Depp was involved in a horse stunt gone wrong in behind-the-scenes footage from “The Lone Ranger.”

In the fast-moving clip, Depp, who plays Tonto in the upcoming Disney movie, slides out of his saddle, tumbles off the horse and is run over by its hooves. Immediately after the fall, the movie crew frantically rushes to the star’s aid.

Depp displays the damage done to his chest but he appears to be fine.

“The positive thing is, my coccyx didn’t take it,” Depp jokes.

“This is a massive undertaking, it’s really dangerous,” director Gore Verbinski says of the film.

In another daunting scene, Armie Hammer, who plays the Lone Ranger, stands on a tall platform as a production helicopter descends uncomfortably close.

“The audience is so sophisticated now [that] they can tell when it’s [computer generated] they can tell when you’re faking it,” explains producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

On September 21, Mike Bridger, a 48-year-old crew member working on the film, died from drowning while working in a tank in the Los Angeles set.
