Staff from Michael White’s Altamarea Group were spotted visiting Richard Gere’s Bedford Post Inn, sparking speculation that the famed chef, who helms Costata and Marea, was looking to take over the property. Rumors that Gere was looking to unload the Bedford Post have become louder after news of the actor’s divorce from Carey Lowell. But White told us at the restaurant Daniel on Tuesday that while the Bedford Post is a “beautiful place,” he’s focused on opening his newest eatery, Ristorante Morini on Madison Avenue, this week. White joined NoMad chef Daniel Humm, Nancy Novogrod and Al Roker in celebrating Daniel Boulud, who was honored at the Relais & Châteaux luncheon.
