Denise Richards on Charlie Sheen’s twins: ‘They are family’

Denise Richards is one understanding woman.

Richards has vowed to look after ex-husband Charlie Sheen’s twin boys as their mother Brooke Mueller faces her demons.

The former Bond girl took in Sheen and Mueller’s 3-year-old boys, Max and Bob, after the sometimes actress reportedly entered rehab. TMZ reported earlier this month that Mueller was seeking treatment after overdosing on prescription pills.

Richards told Access Hollywood her family dynamic is “normal” and insisted she will always be there to take in the twins whenever Mueller needs her.

The “Wild Things” star, who was married to Sheen from 2002 to 2006, said it was important for all five of the kids to grow up together.

“They’re our family, and they’re Sam and Lola’s brothers,” she explained. “I can’t imagine growing up without my sister, so anytime [Brooke] needs help, I’m there for the boys. [Sam and Lola] are the best big sisters to [the boys], and they love them.”

“I know it doesn’t seem normal,” she continued, “but it is our normal.”

Earlier this year, Richards told Rolling Stone that she and Sheen “are like best friends now. Confidants. He tells me everything.”

They seem to be good terms after their roller coaster relationship. In 2006, Richards sought a restraining order against Sheen, alleging death threats against her. In 2008, Sheen called Richards “greedy, vain and exploitative” when she decided to include her two daughters on her reality program “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated.”

Looks like Richards, Mueller and Sheen are in one big, complicated family.
