L.A. Reid: Rihanna should fill my spot on ‘X Factor’

L.A. Reid left “The X Factor” as a winner last night after Tate Stevens, a member of his team, took the crown. So who does Reid think should replace his empty seat at the judges’ table?

“I think Rihanna should fill my spot, so that I have a reason to watch,” he told HollywoodLife.

RiRi would make a fine replacement – she’s had a banner year with multiple magazine covers, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and her new album “Unapologetic.”

But don’t get your hopes up. This week “X Factor” boss Simon Cowell brushed off rumors that Reid’s replacement could be Chris Brown or Rihanna.

“That is complete rubbish, absolute rubbish,” he said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show when asked about the rumors.

Reid also said on Access Hollywood he has “no idea” who is going to take his place but he had a few words of advice to his successor.

“I hope whoever my successor is really loves music, really loves talent, and really gets into it,” he said. “And really sort of makes his judgments based on musical emotion, instead of from an intellectual place of trying to find words.”
