Princess Madeleine of Sweden has set a date for her royal nuptials to British-born financial adviser Christopher O’Neill. The couple — who met in New York in 2010 and live together in the city — plan to wed June 8 at the Royal Palace chapel in Stockholm, according to reports. Wedding organizers are said to be working out the details now, but plan to make it a less lavish affair than Crown Princess Victoria’s wedding to her former personal trainer Daniel Westling in 2010. Princess Madeleine and O’Neill announced their engagement via the Swedish royal family’s Web site on Oct. 25, 2012, with the princess stating, “We share the same humor and we have a lot of fun together. Christopher opened up my heart, he is my soul mate.” The pair met just months after Madeleine broke off her engagement to Jonas Bergstrom. In other holiday royals news, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton — who was recently hospitalized for a severe bout of morning sickness — will break with tradition, and, with the Queen’s permission of course, head to Middleton’s family home in Bucklebury to celebrate Christmas, according to reports.
