Fiat heir Lapo Elkann says he’s turned over a new leaf since his “party boy” days and is now a “JewBu” — or Jewish Buddhist. “I was too much of a — how you say? — spoilt party boy,” says Elkann, who once famously overdosed in the apartment of a transvestite in Italy, in the new issue of Man of the World. “I had to define myself. I would call myself a JewBu . . . The connection between heart and mind that the Buddhists have is not so much a religion as it is a way of living a better life.” He adds, “I am . . . a recovering addict. I am excessive. But excessive can be a great thing if you apply it in the right direction.”
