Cyndi Lauper’s backup dancers needed more security than she did Sunday at the Gay Pride Parade’s Dance on the Pier at Pier 57. Lauper, the parade grand marshal, performed songs from her upcoming Broadway show, “Kinky Boots,” at the bash. But the mostly male crowd at Pier 57 was more interested in the five hunky shirtless dancers than the singer. “While they were backstage before the performance, there was a small crowd gathering around [the dancers] . . . and some reaching and grabbing,” said an onlooker. Security kept the crowd at bay, and Lauper’s performance concluded without incident. Earlier that day, she sang at the Beekman Beer Garden for its annual Stiletto Pride Party.
