Elle out at ‘Fashion Star’

In a major shake-up at NBC’s primetime designer competition “Fashion Star,” Page Six can reveal that supermodel Elle Macpherson is out as host. Additionally, the format of the series, which was just renewed for a second season, could be changing, and producers are considering not having a dedicated host at all — although judges Jessica Simpson, John Varvatos and Nicole Richie will remain. Co-sponsor H&M will not return for a second season, either. Sources say the popular fast-fashion brand, which has inked collaborations with Karl Lagerfeld and Donatella Versace recently, decided the reality show was no longer a good fit. Macpherson, a former Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl, will stay on as an executive producer and is developing a new show, titled “Goddess With Guts,” with her “Fashion Star” producing partner Ben Silverman. “I have been involved with ‘Fashion Star’ from the beginning, and am very proud to see it come to life, not only in America but globally,” Macpherson told us exclusively. “The show is in great hands, and although I will not be hosting this season, I will still be very involved [and] will be reviewing the format for the upcoming season.”
