WATCH: Bobbi Kristina announces she’s engaged to ‘adopted’ brother

Where better to announce an engagement than in a promo video for your new reality show.

After months of rumor, Bobbi Kristina Brown – daughter of the late Whitney Houston – has confirmed that she is engaged to marry her adopted brother Nick Gordon.

Engagement rumors swirled since late summer when Gordon tweeted a photo of a large sapphire ring on Bobbi’s ring finger. Gordon later denied it, claiming it was a gift.

However, speculations were confirmed in a teaser (obtained by E!) of their Lifetime reality show “The Houstons: On Our Own” that will air starting Oct. 24. In the clip, Bobbi Kristina, 19, tells her family “We’re engaged!” The news isn’t welcomed by aunt Pat Houston, who is the manager and executor of Whitney’s estate. “Unacceptable,” she responds.

The pair lived together as siblings for more than a decade before Whitney’s death in February. The legendary icon considered Nick to be her unofficial adopted son.

Not surprisingly, Whitney’s mother and sister-in-law Marion Houston asked an Atlanta judge earlier this month to modify the terms of Whitney’s will to delay Bobbi Kristina’s inheritance from going to her right away.
