Suicide delays Leibovitz VF shoot

A photo shoot for Vanity Fair with top photographer Annie Leibovitz and “Girls” creator/star Lena Dunham was delayed after a man jumped to his death near the River Cafe in Brooklyn yesterday morning. The unidentified 19-year-old scaled the east tower of the Brooklyn Bridge during rush-hour traffic, and took his fatal plunge after lingering on the tower for about 40 minutes. The teen landed in the back of the restaurant, which has been temporarily closed after sustaining heavy damage from superstorm Sandy. Sources exclusively told Page Six that the shoot with Leibovitz and Dunham was scheduled to take place close to the famed DUMBO restaurant, but the venue and surrounding area were blocked off by police during the investigation. When Leibovitz and her team arrived, sources told us they respectfully waited until the cops and emergency vehicles cleared the area before they started work. Hours later, the group shot right outside the River Cafe’s small park in the pouring rain and snow.
