Designer Betsey Johnson is known for her outrageous fashion, but at an appearance last night someone else stole the spotlight with their outfit – or lack thereof. An topless audience member stopped the show during the Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis: Betsey Johnson event hosted by MARTINI Sparkling Wines and the 92nd St. Y with an outrageous display.
“A topless lady wearing a cowboy hat stood up with a video camera and yelled ‘Topless Shock Syndrome is everywhere!’” an eyewitness tells Page Six. “Everyone in the audience started laughing, not fully comprehending what was going on. Then Betsey said, ‘Oh I was right. You ARE topless!’”
Johnson, however, brushed it off and continued, “Wanna know what I’m really into now? Can I plug my reality show?”
The designer’s show for Style Network will premiere this spring.
