Waka Flocka Flame’s rhymes at the VH1 Save the Music Foundation’s Songwriters Music Series were so hot, they blew a speaker. The rapper joined Swizz Beatz onstage Thursday night at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, and during “Hard in da Paint,” a speaker burst into smoke. When a technician rushed to fix it, Swizz told the crowd the handyman was “literally saving the music.” Swizz and Waka then launched back into their set. Joining them onstage were Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul, French Montana and Watch the Duck. The event benefited the Tri-State Sandy Music Relief Fund, to restore school music programs damaged during the storm.
