Howard Stern: Clive Davis is ‘degrading’ Kelly Clarkson in his memoir

Howard Stern is definitely on Team Kelly Clarkson after a war of words erupted between Clive Davis and his former protégé after the release of Davis’ new memoir, “The Soundtrack of My Life.”

“I always find it sickening when management guys like to set the record straight about how [bleeping] creative and what geniuses they are,” the shock jock said on his radio show Wednesday about the 80-year-old record exec’s book.

He added of the Clarkson-Davis feud, “And like this guy’s trying to diminish what she does? Doesn’t he have enough in life? Can’t he sort of tell his story without [bleeping] degrading her and putting her down?”

The “America’s Got Talent” judge then praised the singer and questioned the music mogul’s intentions.

“I think she has an amazing voice, and the girl has worked hard to get to where she is,” he said. “I don’t understand Clive Davis’ motivation for knocking this chick down.”

As Page Six previously reported, the “American Idol” champ wrote a lengthy blog post in which she called Davis a “bully” for seemingly criticizing Clarkson’s songwriting skills and career choices in his book.

Davis shot back the next day in a tweet, standing by his stories about Clarkson and added that his book was thoroughly fact checked.
