Diane Lane was the one who called it quits on her eight-year marriage to Josh Brolin, according to a new report.
TMZ has obtained legal documents that reportedly indicate that the actress filed for divorce from her husband on Feb. 15, the day after Valentine’s Day.
UPDATE: The docs cite “irreconcilable differences” and Lane wants her name restored to Diane Lane as it is currently Diane Lane Brolin.
News broke yesterday of Lane and Brolin ending their marriage, but it also emerged that they had already been separated for a few months.
The couple have had their ups and downs. Four months after they married in 2004, Brolin was arrested for spousal battery but charges were dropped after it was referred to as a “misunderstanding.” He was also arrested for a bar fight in Louisiana in 2008.
Brolin was recently arrested in Santa Monica on New Year’s Day for public intoxication and was released without charge. People reports that the actor was in Venice, Calif. the next day without his wedding ring.
An insider told Us Weekly, “It was a mutual decision. It is very amicable. It’s not ugly, it’s just over.”
