“The Office” star Rainn Wilson raged against US Airways after his flight to Scranton, Pa., from Philadelphia took off 10 minutes before its scheduled departure time yesterday, leaving him and his castmates stranded on their way to the show’s fan-wrap party.
“So @USAirways just screwed me & half the cast of The Office,” Wilson ranted last night on Twitter. “Flight left BEFORE departure time. Sorry Scranton won’t see u til [Saturday].”
Wilson and the cast were headed to Scranton for a daylong “Office” wrap party for fans today. The long-running NBC series’ final episode will air on May 16 after nine seasons. “The Office” is set in a fictional paper company in Scranton.
The comedian, who plays egomaniacal Dwight Schrute, and his co-stars missed their connecting flight to Scranton after landing in the City of Brotherly Love from LA yesterday. “The plane was a 20 seater, missing 7 people who had obviously just landed & it leaves 10 minutes EARLY! @USAirways I’m going to REALLY enjoy trying to convince 3.5 million twinions not to fly @USAirways b/c of their [bleep]y service,” Wilson tweeted.
The crew was ready to take to the road. “We’re being forced to rent cars and drive to Scranton . . . Does the CEO of @USAirways want to join us? I will fondle him angrily,” Wilson tweeted. “Will you pay for our car rental, gas, tolls and @Sbarro, @USAirways?”
Wilson also tweeted a text correspondence between him and US Airways about the mishap, in which the airline responded: “I do understand your frustration, I’m sorry we weren’t able to get you there sooner.”
That didn’t comfort Wilson, who was plotting revenge: “I’m going to take a dump on a @USAirways plane’s windshield. In the shape of the @Delta logo,” he tweeted.
But last night, a US Airways rep said: “We apologize to Mr. Wilson . . . We have rebooked him on the next available flight, and our customer-service team is in contact with him.”
