Liam Gallagher refused to privately settle with baby mama, sources say

Liam Gallagher refused to privately settle an out-of-court deal for child support with his New York baby mama, Liza Ghorbani.

Sources tell us after their daughter, Gemma, was born, the former Oasis frontman and his lawyers started “stonewalling” Ghorbani, refusing to reach a secret out-of-court child-support settlement. She was eventually forced to file a lawsuit because Gallagher wouldn’t negotiate, we’re told.

Gemma is now 5 months old, and we hear freelancer Ghorbani is “broke.” Meanwhile, “Wonderwall” singer Gallagher, 40, has been partying like a rock star in Ibiza.

A source tells us, “Before the child was born, Liam’s attorneys verbally made a very low offer of child support — a figure expected from a regular dad, not a rock star — which was refused. After the baby was born, Liza kept asking Liam to negotiate with her. She had hoped this could have been settled quietly and out of court, but she was completely stonewalled. In the end, she had no choice but to file a suit with the Manhattan Family Court.”

Page Six exclusively revealed that the case is being heard in Manhattan under the names Anonymous v. Anonymous. Top matrimonial attorneys Bill Beslow, for Ghorbani, and Raoul Felder, representing Gallagher, have both declined to comment.

But another source tells us that Beslow — who recently represented Linda Evangelista in her public child-support battle against François-Henri Pinault and helped her win a record-breaking settlement — is prepared to take Gallagher to a public trial if he doesn’t come to a child-support agreement.

The source said, “Liza isn’t after millions, she is just looking for appropriate child support.”

Page Six exclusively revealed that Gallagher started an affair with Ghorbani after she interviewed him for The New York Times in 2010, for a story appropriately titled, “A Night Out With Liam Gallagher.” The singer was this week spotted partying poolside in Ibiza, where he is performing with his new band, Beady Eye.
