Home pregnancy test was ‘most nerve-wracking moment’ of Kate Middleton’s life: report

When Kate Middleton took a home pregnancy test in her three-bedroom cottage in Wales, it was the “most nerve-wracking moment of her entire life,” according to the future Queen of England’s best friend from college.

Jessica Hay, who was the first person to reveal that Middleton was pregnant, says that Kate and Prince William were ecstatic about the results but didn’t go over the top with their celebrations, according to RadarOnline.

Instead, the royal couple simply had “a home-cooked shepherd’s pie and an early night,” Jessica told New Idea Magazine.

Continuing with the under the radar theme, Will and Kate were planning to keep the pregnancy a secret until Christmas but Kate’s recent illness changed all that.

“Katherine had been feeling on top of the world, putting on weight and feeling wonderful, but suddenly on Saturday morning she became very sick,” Hay said.

Kate, who is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness, was admitted to King Edward VII’s Hospital on Dec. 3, shortly after the Palace confirmed the pregnancy.

“Neither of them likes keeping secrets this huge, because although it’s wonderful news Katherine’s already showing in her face and at the front, so they felt it was becoming like a military operation sneaking around,” Hay continued in her New Idea magazine interview.

“They’re relieved everyone knows and they’re just focused on getting her health firm back on track.”
