Sarah Jessica Parker’s team tried to downplay the airport shoplifting incident by telling press that the woman busted for stealing luxury glasses was not Parker’s “assistant” but a member of her entourage.
It’s now been reported that that the woman busted for shoplifting the glasses has reportedly worked with Parker for years.
According to TMZ, the woman, Leslie Lopez, has been Parker’s personal makeup artist since 2005 and has traveled with her extensively all over the world. They have even appeared on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter together in a friendly embrace.
It has yet to be revealed why Parker’s team downplayed the relationship that the makeup artist had with the actress. They initially told the gossip site that Lopez was not on Parker’s payroll.
Lopez paid a $1,400 fine after being caught by airport authorities and was then allowed to leave the country.
Lopez told Page Six in a statement: “I was purchasing items in a duty free shop early yesterday at the Oslo airport and mistakenly failed to remove a pair of sunglasses from my cart while rushing to the gate. While there have been no charges against me, I am sorry for any embarrassment this misunderstanding has caused.”
