Justin Timberlake banks $3M to bring sexy back to the stage

Justin Timberlake was paid up to a whopping $3 million to perform at the star-studded DirectTV Super Bowl party, sources tell us, but he gave the entire sum to Shriners Hospital for Children. Timberlake performed an hour-long concert — his first live show in years — backed by a 10-piece band with guest appearances by Timbaland and Jay-Z. Timberlake, who has just released his first single in six years, “Suit and Tie,” has preferred to concentrate on his acting career with movies such as “Friends With Benefits” and the Oscar-nominated “The Social Network.” There was some irony in the setting of Timberlake’s comeback concert because he was part of the most infamous Super Bowl performance of them all, in 2004, when Janet Jackson had her wardrobe malfunction. The standing-room crowd included Paul McCartney, Sofia Vergara, John Legend and New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft. Timberlake ended the evening with his hit “SexyBack.” His rep didn’t get back to us last night.
