Golf Wars: Rashad-Johnson split gets ugly

Former NFL star Ahmad Rashad and his estranged wife, Sale Johnson — the fabulously wealthy ex of Jets owner Woody Johnson — are at war over their favorite golf club as they hammer out their ugly divorce.

Sources exclusively tell Page Six that sportscaster Rashad has moved out of their marital home at the Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Fla., and into a place he bought before they wed in neighboring Frenchman’s Creek Beach and Country Club — Sale’s favorite golfing spot.

But since Frenchman’s Creek is a residents-only club, Rashad has been able to bar Sale from playing there. Now Sale, who got an estimated $100 million in her divorce from Woody, is trying to outmaneuver Rashad by buying her own place at Frenchman’s Creek, just so she can get in to play golf.

A well-placed source tells us, “Things are really ugly. They used Rashad’s house at Frenchman’s Creek to house staff while they were married, but they still both had a golf membership. Now he has moved back in and revoked her membership.

“Sale is an avid golfer and likes playing at Frenchman’s Creek with her friends. She is livid she can’t get in. Even though it is right across the road from the Bear’s Club, she’s looking to buy her own house at Frenchman’s Creek, not to live in, but to play golf.” Home prices at Frenchman’s Creek range from $500,000 to more than $5 million.

We revealed in January that Sale and Rashad, who wed in 2007, were splitting after fights over his friendship and frequent nights out with Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan.

After the death of Sale’s daughter Casey in 2010, they adopted Casey’s daughter, Ava. Yesterday, Florida journalist Jose Lambiet reported Rashad had lost custody of 6-year-old Ava after Sale petitioned for sole custody.

Two weeks ago, Sale had Rashad’s access pass to the Bear’s Club deactivated. Rashad’s agent declined to comment last night. Sale’s attorney didn’t get back to us.
