Lea Michele was reportedly telling friends that her beau Cory Monteith was planning a 27th birthday surprise for her prior to his tragic death last week.
“She didn’t know what [was planned],” a source told Us Weekly. “But she thought it could be a party and possibly a trip somewhere.”
Monteith died July 13 from a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol. He was 31.
Us Weekly previously reported that the “Glee” costars were getting serious. A source told the magazine, “Lea and Cory were planning on moving in together after he got back from Vancouver.”
Michele gushed to Marie Claire Mexico about her relationship a month before the actor was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room.
“He is the best person I know, he has made my life so incredible, and I am so thankful for him and not only to have him as a partner but also as a co-worker.”
She added, “It is important to have someone that supports you and encourages you, someone that makes you feel that you are unstoppable, that you can do anything in the world because you have him.”
