Huma Abedin is gathering her friends around husband Anthony Weiner, to support his run for mayor. The Hillary Clinton senior adviser and her sister, Heba, are hosting the first Women for Weiner fund-raiser tonight at the home of author and socialite Jill Iscol, who also hosted a bridal shower for Chelsea Clinton. Abedin’s host committee includes designer Reem Acra, Rory Tahari, lawyer Binta Brown and Cheryl Saban, wife of Clinton backer Haim Saban. Weiner himself is expected to greet some 100 attendees. The fund-raiser comes just as the former congressman is running second in the polls with leading Democratic rivals Christine Quinn and William
Thompson.
