Sheryl Sandberg spoof: ‘Lean’ in new direction

Hard-charging Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s “Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will To Lead” has been parodied by comics Alyssa Wolff and Alison Leiby. In “Lean Over: Women, Work, and Women’s Work” a similarly named high-flying exec, Cheryl Sandberger is described as “the COO of Facebook, a wife, a mother, a Saks Diamond Level Cardholder, and an inspiration,” who “shares personal stories about success from her mythical rise to unimaginable wealth.” The satirical Sandberger dishes about an eclectically high-powered gathering she hosted: “Last week, I invited over 17 of my closest friends: Sonia Sotomayor, Frank Rich, Mark Zuckerberg and his Asian wife, Warren Buffett, Herman Cain, Tan Mom, Shakira, Robert Kiyosaki, Apple Paltrow-Martin, Kim Jong-un, Suze Orman, Bruce Jenner, Anderson Cooper, a Bergdorf’s mannequin, Ashton Kutcher and Sara Blakely, the founder of Spanx, for a pre-dinner apéritif.” Recalling her rise to the top, she writes, “After a few years of faking it like I did with my first husband, I overheard some mailroom peon expressing concern about the company’s longterm sustainability, so I just pulled the trigger. I got bangs! And quit my job. I landed on my feet as the chief fact checking officer and merchandising director of Wikipedia, North American region.” Wolff and Leiby have also launched the site LeanOver.org.
