Firefighters lend a hand at ‘Lone Survivor’ premiere

“A group of wounded veterans was specially invited to the premiere of Mark Wahlberg’s Navy SEAL film “Lone Survivor” on Tuesday, with a bus was arranged in advance to take the wheelchair-bound military men to Universal’s screening room nearby since the Ziegfeld Theater isn’t handicap-accessible.
Director Peter Berg, who went with the men in order to talk to them, told Page Six the gear used to lower the chairs malfunctioned, and that the Fire Department was then called in to save the day.”

By that time, the screening had ended and the vets missed the film, so he took them to an after-party at Terminal 5. We hear an after-after-party went down at normally shuttered SubMercer.
Wahlberg told us at a Monkey Bar luncheon for the film the next day that his sons Michael, 7, and Brendan, 5, are dying to see his R-rated release, but he only gave them a sneak peak. “[I] took them out [of the theater], we went to dinner and then came back for the last 12 minutes of the movie,” he said. “They’re dying to see the movie, especially my 5-year-old . . . He was not happy, but my wife would kill me. We’ll go see ‘Frozen,’ or ‘[Saving] Mr. Banks.’ ”
Also at the lunch, which included a Q&A with former SEAL Marcus Luttrell, were co-stars Ben Foster, Taylor Kitsch, Eric Bana and Emile Hirsch, who told us the SEALS’ best advice to him was, “Be aware of your weapon at all times.”
