Kerry Washington gets ‘SNL’ standing ovation

“Scandal” star Kerry Washington received applause from “SNL” castmates for her hosting duties Saturday.

The actress played Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and a Ugandan beauty queen in a series of skits that served as a response to criticism of the NBC show’s failure to hire more black actresses and comediennes.

The cast gathered at the One Group’s Asellina for the after-party, and a reportedly pregnant Washington was joined by husband Nnamdi Asomugha.

Spies said she, “received a standing ovation when she arrived at her table.”

Lorne Michaels, Questlove and Rashida Jones joined cast members Seth Meyers, Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Nasim Pedrad, Vanessa Bayer, Taran Killam and Noël Wells.
