Making Judi Dench laugh

Judi Dench got a kick out of co-star Steve Coogan’s James Bond impressions while filming “Philomena.” “In between takes, I’d do funny voices,” Coogan told us at the Cinema Society premiere at the Paris Theatre. Of Dench, who has played M in seven Bond movies, “She just had to laugh at me, that would make me happy. I did Bonds. I did Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan.” Coogan added, “I can’t do Daniel Craig very well. I have to work on him.” Later, Philomena Lee — the inspiration for the film, who searched for her son 50 years after being forced to give him up for adoption in Ireland — was seen at a Weinstein Company after-party at the Skylark with guests Mariska Hargitay, Emily Mortimer and David Byrne.
