Rose McGowan turns herself in over drug possession warrant

Rose McGowan turned herself into authorities Tuesday on an arrest warrant for drug possession, Page Six has confirmed.

The warrant was obtained on Feb. 1, 2017, after a police investigation of McGowan’s personal belongings “tested positive for narcotics and were left behind on a flight arriving at Washington Dulles International Airport” on Jan. 20, the Airports Authority Police Department told us.

On Tuesday, McGowan appeared in Loudoun County, Virginia, to accept service of the Airports Authority Police arrest warrant. She was subsequently released on $5,000 unsecured bond, police officials said.

After news of the arrest warrant went public at the end of October, McGowan turned to Twitter to respond, writing: “Are they trying to silence me? There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia. What a load of HORSES–T.” The actress-turned-activist has become one of the most outspoken voices about sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood, after accusing disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of rape.

The Blast first reported news of McGowan’s arrest on Tuesday.
