Maybe going to the Vanity Fair Oscars party to hobnob with Hollywood stars for the third year in a row wasn’t so smart of Preet Bharara, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York, who was just fired by President Trump.
Vanity Fair’s Editor-in-Chief Graydon Carter, having dubbed Trump a “short-fingered vulgarian” in the ’80s, now calls him “a serial bankrupt … a preening and vindictive strongman … our Russian-elected president … an aggrieved food-and-beverage proprietor” and “an orange-tinted reality star.”
Bharara is also a regular on VF’s fawning New Establishment list. Scoffed one Bharara critic, “He should launch a reality show, given that he’s already the Kardashian of federal prosecutors.”
