Captain America was never going to let a white supremacist get the best of him.

Chris Evans, 35, finally got former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke to shut up on Monday after a nearly week-long war of tweets.

The actor and the white supremacist loudmouth have been fighting since last week, when Evans trashed the confirmation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions for, among other reasons, having pleased Duke so much.

On Sunday, Duke fired his latest salvo over Twitter, posting four pictures of Evans with various women of color and his ex Jenny Slate (who is Jewish), that Duke claimed illustrated the actor’s hatred of “the women of his people.” The loathsome tweet also pointed out that Captain America was the brainchild of two Jewish creators, Joe Siegel and Jack Kirby, and featured the hashtag “#WhiteGenocide.”

Evans responded the next morning, writing, “I don’t hate them. That’s YOUR method. I love. Try it. It’s stronger than hate. It unites us. I promise it’s in you under the anger and fear.”

Duke has yet to respond to Evans’ simple reply, but has continued to attack the motives of the fictional Captain America on Twitter and his podcast. But as one fan pointed out, the character has been fighting white supremacists since the 1940s.
