Benedict Cumberbatch is set to be a daddy again, after it was revealed his wife Sophie Hunter is expecting their second child.
According to reports, the revelation was made at last night’s Hollywood premiere of “Doctor Strange.”
E! has reported that the big secret was let slip during the showbiz bash at the historic Chinese Theatre.
The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch, just over a year ago.
On June 13, 2015, the two announced the arrival of their newborn with the following statement: “Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son. We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.”
Benedict has previously said he hoped to add to his brood, joking he might “go for a (Cumber)batch of boys.”
Meanwhile, fans were left disappointed earlier this month when Benedict hinted that the next series of “Sherlock” could be the last.
The hit BBC drama’s fourth installment is due early next year.
The 40-year-old said it felt like the “end of an era”.
He admitted he would “never say never” but the series felt “complete.”
Cumberbatch told GQ mag: “I’d love to revisit it, I’d love to keep revisiting it, I stand by that, but in the immediate future we all have things that we want to crack on with and we’ve made something very complete as it is, so I think we’ll just wait and see.
“The idea of never playing him again is really galling.”
