Could Anthony Weiner get jail time for underage sexts?

New York state Assembly candidate Dean Hart is horrified over the recent allegations that Anthony Weiner sent sexts to a 15-year-old girl and is calling for a bill to criminalize sexually charged texts with minors.

The Long Islander tells us, “When you are an adult, you don’t play games with 15-year-old girls . . . This should be illegal and eliminates the difference between images and writing.”

Hart says of Weiner, “It’s the weirdest thing. This is how he gets his jollies. I thought he needs a shrink . . . but now [with a minor], they got to make it a crime. When people drive drunk, they are not permitted to drive a car again, so they should ban him from using cellphones and the internet.”

He adds, “I don’t know if that cellphone should be in the Museum of Sex or the Smithsonian. It should be next to Monica Lewinsky’s dress.”

Jill Cohen, a DC lawyer and former assistant district attorney in Queens, says she believes Weiner is going to get jail time and speculates that “this could be the tip of the iceberg with a minor. This is not the first schoolgirl he wants to see in her uniform.”

Cohen tells us Weiner could be sued in federal court in New York, as well as North Carolina, where the girl is from, and could also see a civil suit from her family.

“This is disgusting and depraved,” Cohen says. “I would not want to be his lawyer. He is not going to win this case.”
