At just 24 years old, John Catsimatidis’ son, John Catsimatidis Jr., has been appointed to the board of Gold Coast Bank, we’re told.
Cynics might wonder if there’s a connection between that happy news and the fact that the Long Island bank just happened to open its first NYC location in one of his supermarket- and real estate-mogul father’s new buildings in Brooklyn.
But the chairman of the bank’s board, John Tsunis, tells us the scion was just the best man for the job.
“We want someone who has expertise in the millennial market,” he told us. “That’s a huge factor in Brooklyn.”
Tsunis added that the real estate deal was done months before his appointment to the board.
