Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are done

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced Thursday that they were splitting up — suspiciously just two hours after Page Six asked their reps to confirm our sources’ reports that they had called it quits on their marriage.

The stars — who’ve been married for 2½ years — said the breakup was “mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year” and that they “decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”

An insider told Page Six that the pair split up over the holidays. “They realized they couldn’t make things work,” said the source.

“He’s been living in New York, she’s been in LA. After they got married, they just realized that they were two very different people.”

The source added, “He’s really bored by her whole Hollywood crowd, and she’s not into his edgy, arty scene.”

Buzz of a breakup spread as they recently spent more time apart. Aniston celebrated her 49th birthday without Theroux in Malibu, Calif. — instead hanging with female friends including manager Aleen Keshishian and Courteney Cox. A source said “the brunch was very supportive of Jen’s moving on.”

Meanwhile, Theroux was in New York. But he certainly hasn’t been moping: The “Leftovers” star was seen partying with the downtown crowd at Mark Ronson’s Grammy afterparty at Public Arts on Jan. 28. We reported that they spent New Year’s Eve together in Mexico with Jason Bateman and his wife.

The couple married in 2015 at a surprise ceremony at their home. They’d gotten engaged on his birthday in 2012.

Aniston and Theroux gave their statement to the AP just after Page Six contacted their reps to comment on the breakup.

They said, “Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
